Ever since I was very young I had an image of sculpted light in my mind. I didn’t really understand what it was or what it meant. Every once in a while I would attempt to figure out a way to bring the image out of my head and into reality. My first try was in kindergarten after I had seen The Wizard of Oz. In art class I had my first exposure to finger paints and I created what others described as a "blue tornado". I was very proud of my creation though it failed to come near the image in my head. Over the years I made more attempts that paled in comparison. Ultimately technology would be my tool of choice. I created my first digital work on an Apple II in 1985 in the PaintBrush app. In 1998 I bought my first Apple, the Power Macintosh 8600 for $3k. People thought I was crazy LoL! I’ve been a digital artist ever since. By following my heart and doing my emotional work and expressing myself, my digital art led me to the realization that I had two near death experiences as a child. My work has evolved out of technology and it’s the thread that I have followed since my beginning. This genesis piece is the first image I created after realizing my NDEs.
